Large Size Womens Clothing
If you are a bigger woman, knowing what to buy so that you look good can be tricky. Many bigger women shy away from jeans. And specifically many want to know if they can wear jeans?
Yes of course you can! Being a bigger woman does not mean you should have to give up the ease and convenience of wearing denim.
If you want to look good in your plus size women’s jeans here are a few tips…
1. Wear Fitted Jeans
If you wear jeans that are too big and baggy on you - you will only look larger than you are. While it may feel safe larger size jeans will not do you any favors.
Invest in jeans that are fitting - not skin tight as these will just make you feel uncomfortable and self conscious. Fitted jeans that are the right size for your body are the most flattering for a large size woman to wear.
2. Choose a Dark Wash
See for yourself. Try on a light pair of jeans and then in the same style a darker blue or black pair. Look honestly at yourself and see which you feel most comfortable in. The more comfortable you feel the more confidence you will ooze. Confidence is sexy!
Pale colored denim creates the illusion of being bigger than you are. Darker colors do the opposite. Darker denim is also more dressy. Personally I believe larger women look more attractive when they have paid extra attention to their appearance. A lighter, more casual color looks messier in my opinion.
3. Pay More for Quality
Yes, designer jeans are expensive. But typically they have a higher quality fabric and a better cut. Cheap denim does not flatter us larger women.
Look for rigid denim that has little lycra and stretch to it. The less stretch there is in your jeans the less the material can accommodate your bulges! Rigid denim “holds it all in” and will give you a smoother, cleaner line.
If you have looked and looked for jeans and haven’t found any that fit - buy the closest fit you can and then have them altered. Believe me, a well-fitting pair of jeans will make a world of difference in your appearance and in your self-confidence too!
4. Remember to Accessorize
It has been reported both men and women are more attracted to those who wear bright colors than those who don’t. Ensure your shoes are not boring black. Go for chocolate brown, deep purple, olive green, burnt orange. This adds spark and interest to your jeans.
Wear a scarf. A dainty, pretty scarf will look fabulous tied around your neck in a small bow 50’s style. Not enough American women wear scarves. I think we should take a leaf out of our European sister’s fashion and follow suit. Scarves are a inexpensive and instant way to add more interest and color to your existing outfit.
